From the Fylde Coast

Rob, Lowriand Walty.

We are Rob Brooks and Lowri Lewis: partners, co-founders, and, after a very long engagement, two people with a wedding to fund.

We started Walty because the usual way of personalising cards felt nowhere near personal enough. Changing a name, adding a message, and dropping in a photo still left the person as an afterthought.

The name comes from our dog, Walter, because the whole thing started close to home: with the cards we wanted to send to the people who know us best.

The idea

Make the person the story, the artwork, and the reason it gets kept.

Why we bothered

Personalised should feel personal.

We wanted better, more evocative reactions from friends and family when they opened a card. Not just a polite smile. Not just something that proves you remembered the date.

For the first time, we felt we could build a platform where the design changes around the recipient: their face, their details, their humour, their relationship with the sender, and the little things only they would understand.

More than text boxes

Names, photos, jokes, relationships, and tiny details should shape the artwork itself, not sit on top of a design that was already finished.

The recipient is the design

We want the person receiving the card to feel like the whole idea was built around them, because that is where the good reactions come from.

Worth keeping

A proper card should earn a laugh, a tear, a screenshot, or a place on the mantelpiece, not make a brief stop before the recycling bin.

The wedding bit

A long engagement with a very practical mission.

We are engaged to be married, and the engagement has lasted long enough to deserve its own commemorative card range.

So yes, part of the dream is simple: build something people genuinely love, help more cards get kept, and nudge the wedding fund in the right direction while we do it.

Make them keep it

A card should feel unmistakably about them.

That is the bar we are trying to meet every time someone opens Walty and starts making something for a person they care about.
